A “My Transtastic Journal” Check In…

So last time I introduced my support team, including some of the major players in my transition. So what have we been working on?

Physical — HRT

Well, since my quarterly hormone review and “declaration of war” against all bad reports I have been trying to listen to my body more and eat better. I’ve temporarily added a physical trainer to my team (who is very positive and asks questions about things related to my transition, which I love). I’m so out of practice sharing with a person face-to-face, and that sounds crazy but just to show how cloistered I have been. I mean I share at work but its “work stuff” or things that have nothing to do with “me”.

Speaking Of Work

Yes, I finally got fed up with “beating around the bush” at my office, because no one would tell me anything specific. I was asking questions about LGBT support groups (they don’t have one yet) but because it is a local government they are keen on setting up support for LGBT. So I told my HR person and the Diversity Director that I was transitioning but hadn’t come out to my department yet. So we are going to be working on a plan for that (probably some time next year, once I get some practice presenting fem). So I’m adding these two to the “roster” on my support team. I’ve been working at the City for over 20 years, so it will take my peeps a bit to get used to the idea (and to see me!) in my truer form…

Therapy

Trudging along. I am trying to keep notes because if I don’t its out the ears when I’m done. My therapist takes better notes than I do and actually read some back to me at the end of our last session so I would have them. I feel like I’m just getting warmed up with them though, (T-Therapist meeting next week! Will be talking about work transition and medical transitions in the future)…

Medical Transition

I found another doctor in CA who is on my insurance and I’m checking to see what surgeries are covered. If they cover bottom (which I think they do — fingers crossed) I’m going to see about getting on her waiting list, because if its a couple of years that would be perfect with my HRT timeline. I will still need to see if I need top work, depending on HRT, and maybe voice… but these are all down the road…

Short Term Goal — Feminization

I just enrolled in a feminization program by Feminization Secrets, who I started working with years ago for their “flat to femme” products. They are plant-based estrogens which I used for several years when I was hoping to keep flying under the radar (although if I would have gotten the results I was hoping for I would have “come out” sooner to my wife…lol). Anyway, they specialize in training for all aspects of fem presentation, so I’m trying something more intentional (makeup, dress, attitude, voice) to see where it takes me…

Well, that’s the update for today!!! Stay tuned for more from this very excited, very ready to be me person!!!
